Job Introduction

This is a fantastic opportunityfor an experienced Audit Manager, to join the Internal Audit team of one of thelargest Building Societies in the UK. The role will focus on Prudential andFinance Risks, with the successful applicant leading a varied portfolio ofaudit assignments across the Society and the Connells Estate Agency Group (thelargest subsidiary of the Building Society).

Whatyou’ll be doing

Skipton Building Society (SBS)Group Internal Audit portfolio covers the whole Skipton Group of companieswithin the UK, Channel Islands and New Zealand. This includes Connells Group whichis a fully owned group company of SBS and is the largest Estate Agency in theUK. You will be part of the SBS Group Internal Audit team, and this role willfocus on the delivery of Financial Risk audits across the Connells Group andPrudential Risk audits across the wider Skipton Group.

You will lead a wide range ofaudits covering all aspects of the Connells and Skipton Group, including:

Financial Control risks within Estate Agency, Lettings and Surveying; Financial risks within the Skipton Group; Regulatory Reporting; Stress Testing; Capital & Liquidity Management; and Credit Risk and Modelling

This role enables you to furtherdevelop your technical skills in Financial Risk and Prudential Risk auditing,lead small teams, and coach and develop colleagues. As a Manager, you will be accountable for the delivery of anumberof audit assignments, providing direction and empowerment to the GroupInternal Audit delivery team. You’ll also engage with stakeholders atConnells and Skipton Group, to help shape the Internal Audit Plan and toprovide feedback on audit outcomes and prepare audit reports to encourageappropriate action. Through continuous monitoring you will build trustedrelationships with stakeholders across the business, sharing insights andproviding opinions. There will also be opportunities for you to be involved invarious projects and initiatives across the SBS Group.

The SBS Group Head Office isbased in Skipton and Connells Group currently have Head Offices in LeightonBuzzard and Milton Keynes. Connells Group operations currently extend acrossthe UK.

We’ve adapted really well to homeworking during the current pandemic. There would not be a requirement for youto be based at one of our Head Offices full time. We are also happy to considerany flexible working requests you may have. However, due to the nature of therole work away from home will be required, this will be in the region of 20% of your time.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone withexperience in leading Financial and Prudential related audits who can help ConnellsGroup and SBS manage risks across these areas. You’ll be able to manage varyingworkloads and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

The keycompetencies for this role are:

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written); Analytical skills; Stakeholder management; Experience working in a regulated environment; and Organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
