Salary: £19,766 – £22,424 (Dependant on your relevant experience)

As a Business Development Advisor (BDA) you’ll spend time talking and building relationships with our Intermediary partners (mortgage brokers, mortgage advisory and financial advisers) about an mortgage application they want us to consider.

You’ll gain a detailed knowledge of our policies, products and criteria and you’ll be empowered to use this to assess any initial enquiries and provide the certainty of a decision. Brokers contact us by phone or by web chat, but this isn’t a traditional call centre role (there are no scripts, just conversations!) it’s business-to-business support and brokers regularly tell us we’re the best in the business!

This is a knowledge-based role so you’ll be someone who enjoys learning new things and you’ll have a desire to be regarded as a subject matter expert. Pro-actively keeping up to date with products and lending policy requirements and changes will be important and you’ll enjoy working in a friendly and professional environment.

We’re looking for customer focused, confident, articulate individuals who have a passion for being the best they can be and who’d find a role in mortgages rewarding, interesting and enjoyable. As a BDA you’re often the first voice of Coventry for intermediaries, so making the experience a great one each time will be a reason brokers will want to trust us with their clients mortgage applications again and again.

This is a full time Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm position and once you are comfortable in role you’ll be able to work from the office and home on a hybrid basis.

Our recruitment process will include some online testing, a brief telephone chat and to comply with social distancing, a zoom assessment with managers from the department.

But, who do mortgage brokers rely on? The reality is that technology is hugely important. However, what mortgage brokers want most is the reassurance that their client’s mortgage application fits the lender’s criteria and that’s where you come in…

To be successful in the role you’ll have experience of dealing with a wide range of diverse people and have strong communication skills. You’ll already have a strong customer service focus and while mortgage experience would be advantageous, its not essential as our fantastic training will support your journey.

You’ll have the evidence of dealing with more complex situations and be comfortable working in a fast paced, professional environment. You’ll have strong relationship building skills and having experience of working in business to business related role would be advantageous.

You’ll be a team player, a positive attitude and enjoy helping those around you. It’s important to keep your knowledge up to date with regular changes and updates, so you’ll be able to learn new information and apply it accurately.
