Are you passionate about supporting children and young people in residential care and committed to driving positive change? Join our team as a Service Development Co-ordinator where you’ll play a central role in enhancing the services and support we provide.

As a Service Development Co-ordinator, you’ll coordinate and support various initiatives within our Children Residential Services Workforce Development. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating across the team to lead and advance service improvements that align with our strategy, meet regulatory standards, and support the implementation of the Social Care Academy.
  • Driving change and supporting continuous improvement to achieve performance goals, ensuring better outcomes for children in our care.
  • Promoting and facilitating consultations with children and young people residing in our residential homes to ensure their voices are heard and reflected in our services.
  • Developing and standardising policies, processes, and residential projects to ensure consistent best practices.
  • Researching and integrating insights from external sources, including other residential services, to inspire future service enhancements.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

We are looking for an individual who brings a commitment to inclusivity and understanding of diverse backgrounds and perspectives. To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Degree or equivalent qualifications and/or significant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including Children’s Home Regulations (2015), Ofsted Inspection Framework, and Children’s Homes Quality Standards.
  • Understanding of the agenda for children and families and familiarity with policies surrounding equal opportunities.
  • Proficiency in gathering and analysing information from varied sources to measure performance effectively.
  • Experience in financial analysis and the ability to provide insights into financial impacts of decisions.
  • Strong IT skills to support monitoring and evaluating services, alongside experience in creating reports, presentations, and using tools like spreadsheets and databases.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to present to various stakeholders.
