Riverside East
Peppermint Events are excited to offer a rare opportunity at their brand-new F&B Venue, Riverside East in Queen Elizabeth Park, London. 
Based in the heart of the iconic Olympic Park this venue will be re imagined to become a multi functioning destination F&B space, comprising of the large outside courtyard area which will host a range of events from fan zones to Sunday markets all year round with innovation such as self-service Beer Taps as well as a wide range of entertainment. 
Food offerings will be provided by a group of curated street food traders offering varied food options from the courtyard area. The indoor offering will come through a fully refurbished 2 storey café / restaurant space with the ground floor serving the varied passing trade from dog walkers, runners and students with a grab-and-go and small but inspiring seated all day brunch style menu. Upstairs features a stunning internal space with a large roof Terrace overlooking the area, this will deliver both evening dining, weekend brunch and Sunday roasts as well as being a bookable space for events. 
The venue has a seated dining capacity of 260 and will be open all year round with a late license available as required. Being both a food and drink led venue with programmed entertainment across both indoor and outdoor spaces, this is a great spot for families, students and sports fans whilst also being a place for the community and a destination for foodies and coffee lovers. It will feature a large screen where live sport can be watched and host fans before attending events at the Olympic Stadium, Copperbox arena, ABBA arena and other local attractions.
The Role 
The Event Manager position is a dynamic role, and is split into three defined parts;  
Curating, procuring and organising public events 
To deliver year-round exciting and engaging event programming, co-promotions to the venue. This involves planning (working closely with General Manager and Directors) and (working closely with the Marketing Manager and Marketing Agency), coordinating and implementing a wide range of events at the venue, in our 1000+ capacity outdoor space, ‘The Yard’ and our terrace, restaurant and events spaces. 
You will take the lead on event programming across the venue, finding the right mix with our marketing team on content that attracts our target audience. This is a mix of local communities and visitors.
You will be capable of multitasking many different forms of programming, from meetings, conference and events enquiring (MCE), to a farmers and vintage markets, to DJs, movie nights and fan zones whilst looking ahead at seasonal and iconic event campaigns with the marketing team. 
You will actively manage live events and be responsible for coordinating staff across the venue and liaising with clients to fulfil their needs during the event. 
Management of Conference & Event Bookings 
You will personally event coordinate commercial, corporate, and private conferences and events – working with event and entertainment partners and promoters to collaborate on the venues content ideas.  
You will provide an effective liaison between Riverside’s Conference and Events booking partner and the end customer, via the Riverside Management, FOH & BOH teams
You will be responsible for all venue show-rounds, managing the diary to coordinate and communicate these visits across the venue.
You will ensure all sales administration is done effectively and accurately for all events to provide a seamless handover to the operations team through ownership of the BEO process and ensuring all pre-event billing is accurately recorded.
You will ensure that our external sales partner are kept informed of the guest’s experience following the event so follow-up calls are informed and relevant for the guest. 
 
Handling direct booking enquiries
Day to day, you will answer booking enquiries and assist customers with any queries, planning and creating memorable and successful events- requiring excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, strong communication, and a creative edge. 
You will handle social and local booking enquiries, building relationships with park partners, neighbours and key stakeholders within Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
 
Overview of Responsibilities:
  • To diary manage the above, public events, C&E bookings and direct bookings. 
  • To deal with and action all correspondence received via email or telephone.
  • To ensure a daily liaison plan is in place with sales, marketing and operational team members. Effective written and verbal communication and a strong attention to detail is key. 
  • To be the go-to at venue level for sponsors and client requests
  • To ensure the highest level of customer care is always adhered to
  • To demonstrate a can-do attitude towards individual customer requests and strive to exceed customer expectations
  • To maximise all sales opportunities / leads to support in achieving revenue targets
  • To acquire a good knowledge of all products and services offered by the venue to advise individual customers
  • To actively gain customer feedback, passing information gained on to relevant people
  • To always look out for opportunities to develop our service through seeking continuous improvement and innovation. 
  • To be prepared to assist colleagues in a willing and positive manner, including assisting with other duties as required. 
  • To be prepared to attend all relevant training sessions and meetings. 
  • To always promote venues facilities and maintain a positive company image. 
Operational Excellence:
  • To make sure you are aware of, and meet the legal and company requirements for fire, safety, health and hygiene. 
  • To report health and safety issues to your line manager, including all accidents and near misses. 
  • To promote good safety habits and methods of work. 
  • To attend the weekly operations meeting and present events schedules and related planning materials to the team. 
  • Constantly bring new ideas and trends to the venue to enrich our credentials to our target audience.
  • Provide administrational support to the operations department including but not restricted to producing signage, event menus, table plans, place cards.
  • Ensure relevant and pertinent financial information is provided to the accounts team in a timely manner. 
  • Collect deposit payments and ensure that these are in line Riverside Terms and Conditions.
Experience
  • Experienced in programming, planning and managing a variety of events in a dynamic venue (highly preferred)
  • 2+years’ experience in an events based role. 
  • Relationship and client management experience
Key Knowledge & Skills  
  • Extensive knowledge of food and beverage venues
  • Passionate about current and evolving entertainment trends and what’s in demand to a wide demographic  
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction between the venue team, customers and clients 
  • Creative thinking to develop exciting and unique event concepts 
  • Can manage customer feedback and confidently manage complaint handling.
  • Quick problem-solving to skills to manage events 
  • Diligent in diary management for multiple event bookings and enquiries alongside programming
  • Confident and possesses the ability to be a great ‘team player’
  • Passionate about sales and operations 
  • High attention to detail 
  • High degree of IT & spreadsheet efficiency
  • A good sense of humour
