Overview

Parkdale are recruiting!

What can we say about Parkdale except that it feels like a magical fairy-tale home and there’s a story for everyone to start here!

This calm and nurturing home in beautiful Colchester is set up to support children and young people in preparation for full-time education, positive contact with family and support them with the move to foster or family homes. We also work to empower them to live a life they love.

We achieve amazing outcomes, and our recent OFSTED inspection observed the high level of nurturing and robust activity plans to help engage the young people and staff!

We love to get out and about when we can and we take trips to London, enjoy gardening, setting up for afternoon tea and of course eating it after! We love hosting parties, playing football in the garden, getting on the trampoline and heading out on bike rides in our dinosaur safety helmets!

We want the best for everyone we support and that's what makes us a family. If you have the ability to support someone to feel at home, be their true self, and do what makes their heart happy – we want to hear from you. This is a meaningful role and will suit someone who is looking to make a difference and make memories and friends to last a lifetime.

We know our staff put 100% into building brighter futures for the individuals we support. That's why we offer career progression no matter where you start in the organisation. Your progress here will be regularly reviewed and as you gain expertise your rate of pay will increase. We believe in creating a Career from Care and we want the support workers we recruit now to become our managers of the future!

In regards to benefits, at Salutem, any day can be a payday. That’s right, you can withdraw up to 30% of your wages via Wagestream, so if you need some cash, we’ve got you covered.

As a keyworker in the Care sector, you’ll qualify for discounts with a Blue Light card and we’re signed up to Perkbox which offers over 200 exclusive perks and discounts. If you qualify for a pension scheme and choose to opt in, we’ll support you to pay into this. We also have a healthcare scheme you can opt into that looks after you when you need it most.

We enjoy using our internal staff communications app, Blink, where everyone has a voice and can lean on each other for daily support, and celebrate success too.

We have a massive duty of care towards those we support who are often the most vulnerable in society, which is why our staff are encouraged to keep up to date with vaccines and focus on self-care too.

We hope this gives you a little glimpse into this role and vibe of our organisation.

So if you have a brilliant sense of humour, you can see the bright side of a situation, and you’re willing to share some good times with young people who need someone to help them through a tricky time – have a think about joining our work family and make a difference to someone's life.

Please note, due to Ofsted regulations you must be aged 21 or above to be considered for this role.

These pay rates are applicable from 1st April 2023
