Internal Communications Advisor

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Internal Communications Manager, this role sits within our Nuclear Operations & Nuclear Services Communications team within our Communications directorate. The team are responsible for delivering engaging communications through a variety of channels to teams and external stakeholders, based across multiple locations.

We are looking for a talented Internal Communications Advisor to support the delivery of the communications strategy for our teams supporting our operating and future nuclear power stations.

This is a hybrid role with flexible working, meaning you can divide your time between the office and remote working. We will provide a suite of IT equipment to ensure that you can work remotely comfortably and effectively. The team are based at our Gloucester Office and are onsite on a weekly basis.

What you’ll be doing

As the Internal Communications Advisor you will support the development of engaging content across a number of channels and software tools, to communicate the performance of the Nuclear Services business against their monthly key performance indicators.

You will support engagement events for Nuclear Services and the Nuclear Operations Technical Directorate, including planning logistics and event support for webinars, open forums, celebration events and executive team visits.

Through analysing our email and intranet metrics, you will regularly review the effectiveness of communications, both channel and content. You will ensure that content is of the highest quality, cost effective and channel usage is optimised by analysing the annual engagement and channel survey feedback.

In collaboration with the Internal Communications Manager, you’ll be responsible for updating intranet sections, overseeing our communications inbox and distribution lists, write and create engaging content using email software and produce the monthly digital e-newsletter for Nuclear Services.

Using storytelling techniques, you will collaborate with our technical teams to simplify complex technical information for broader audiences.

Who you are

We are looking for somebody with excellent communication skills, proven experience of internal communications within a complex industry and a good understanding of digital communication technologies.  

You will have the skills to handle all aspects of an internal communications campaign, from planning and development to organisation, delivery, and feedback. You will enjoy building strong relationships, with a reputation for integrity, trust, and openness with colleagues at all levels.
