Are you an experienced Senior Civil Engineer looking to take the next step in your career, as part of a thriving, multi-disciplinary consultancy?

Do you want to work as part of a collaborative, dynamic team of like-minded, talented professionals?

We are looking to appoint an exceptional Principal Civil Engineer to work across an array of projects within our experienced team in London.

You will support the delivery of single discipline civil engineering schemes including highways, infrastructure and public realm. Working in unison with the Pick Everard multi-disciplinary team, you will also support with the management and delivery of a diverse range of projects including health, education, commercial, custodial and residential.

As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will produce technical designs, specifications and reports for a large variety of projects in terms of size, type, and complexity, both single discipline and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will mentor and manage your design sub-team (project programming and planning and resources), and have an active involvement with bidding, fee preparation and client meetings.

Our Civil Engineering discipline boast a supportive and collaborative environment, and the successful engineer can expect hands-on guidance and prosperous career development. You will also have opportunities to achieve chartered status, with mentors and access to regular workshops and seminars tailored to signing off the core objectives as part of the chartership process.

About You

The successful candidate will have significant, proven experience, and be passionate about civil engineering.

Our ideal Principal Civil Engineer must have:

  • A degree or equivalent in civil engineering or a related subject, working towards a professional qualification
  • Experience managing a range of highway and infrastructure schemes, as well as bespoke projects.
  • Good knowledge of industry design software packages
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player with a confident, positive and enthusiastic attitude

 It would be nice for you to have:

  • Approaching Incorporated/Chartered membership of ICE
  • Experience in a variety of different forms of contract
  • Active travel experience, associated with public realm works
  • Confident liaising with new and existing clients and an ability to build a good rapport with other parts of our inter-disciplinary practice, and with external design teams
  • Robust problem solving skills, taking accountability for assigned work
  • Previous experience writing and presenting reports along with client interaction and work winning
  • The ability to lead a sub-team, focused on delivery of high quality design output.
