This is an exciting opportunity for you to join EDF and be part of our mission in helping Britain achieve net zero. Initially supporting the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project, your career with us could lead you next to our sister project in Suffolk, Sizewell C (SZC) in the future. Both are mega infrastructure Nuclear New Build projects where each, when completed, will provide low carbon electricity for 6 million homes for 60 years in the UK. The SZC project has obtained planning approval and is seeking financing with a view to start construction in 2024, whilst HPC is currently under construction.
We have fantastic opportunities for a number of Programme Managers to take on key leadership positions within the Delivery organisation, being responsible for the direction and leadership of all activities associated with the integrated lifecycle delivery of the contracts or work packages assigned to your Area.
Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.
The Role
Within one of HPC’s programme areas (Nuclear Island, Conventional Island & Balance of Plant) you'll ensure planning and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time, and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project, ensuring the end-to-end delivery of a large scope of systems, structures and components.
You'll lead the delivery of the agreed scope within your Area, principally accountable for ensuring, through the leadership of Multi-Disciplined Teams, the successful coordinated delivery across the sub-area lifecycle of the design, procurement, construction and commissioning sequences and activities required to deliver the HPC schedule.
This’ll be achieved by leading and managing the relationships with our supply chain to ensure a constructive relationship is maintained throughout the lifecycle of the project, identifying and anlalysing project schedule risks and managing the interfaces to the other elements of the programme.
The Skills
You’ll bring proven extensive experience in delivering major projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment with a good working knowledge of NEC or FIDIC contract arrangements, along with the ability to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation.
You'll also be proficient in the use of estimating scheduling, programming and risk tools. Your technical expertise will allow you to understand and communicate complex technical ideas to a range of audiences.
