The Opportunity…

 

At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

 

As an MEH Project Manager, you’ll have the responsibility to ensure delivery of all the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities for the life cycle of the contract in accordance with the overall Project schedule.

 

You will ensure planning and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time, and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project.

What you’ll be doing…

 

  • Overseeing part of the Wrapping, Insulation, and Caulking (WIC) scope, ensuring passive protection for Mechanical Electrical and Classified HVAC packages and other equipment on the HPC project.
  • Coordinating with various teams and functions to ensure timely contract award and delivery of Passive Protection scopes.
  • Anticipating, managing, and resolving issues during pre-contract phases including pre-qualification, tender, negotiation, and contract phases.
  • Developing and implementing strategies aligned with the overall Programme Definition Document.
  • Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders and executing project strategies within bid or contract parameters.
  • Administering contracts, managing variations, claims, technical queries, and instructions using CEMAR during contract execution phases.
  • Driving contract delivery, ensuring safety, timeliness, adherence to budget and technical requirements.
  • Managing changes to contracts, including scope definition, business justification, and implementation in line with governance.
  • Interfacing with HPC Site team, ensuring pre-shipping activities are completed to facilitate seamless delivery and construction planning is completed.
  • Applying Earned Value Management principles and commercial reporting requirements and foster Continuous Improvement practices.

 

Who you are…

 

Your background may include some of the following:

  • Ideally you will hold degree and chartered status in engineering, construction, physics, or related fields.
  • Experience in Project Management, including familiarity with APM or Prince 2 methodologies Proficient in numerical analysis and possess strong analytical skills.
  • Understanding of Mechanical and Electrical installation or PWR design and operations is advantageous.
  • Track record of delivering projects in complex environments, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector.
  • Familiarity with CDM Regulations.
