About the role

Cambridge Accommodation Services is based in central Cambridge and supports tenantsĀ 

with learning disabilities in a respite, residential and supported living setting.Ā 

The role of Senior Support Worker is to lead a staff team of Support Workers to supportĀ 

and empower adults with a learning disability to enhance the quality of their life,Ā 

maximise their potential and to continue to promote and develop independence skills withinĀ 

their home, the community, or within a supported unit or whilst accessing respite.

Our Senior Support WorkersĀ line manage a team of Support Workers providing support, training andĀ supervision.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

About you

You will need to have a proficient level of written and spoken English for the purposes ofĀ 

case recording and will hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or relatedĀ 

subject.

Ā 

As a Senior Support Worker, you will need to have excellent verbal and writtenĀ communication skills as well as having proficient IT skills.Ā 

You will be able to demonstrate commitment to equality, diversity and inclusionĀ principles and anti-discriminatory practice and also show an understanding of the principles of a supported living/ respite Provision.
