An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-employed Sessional Speech and Language Therapist to work along site the onsite clinical team and be part of the new leadership team, which has a clear vision for growth and positive change.

This is a unique post where you will deliver an SLT service and provide support to individuals with a range of Learning Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), often accompanied by complex needs and challenging behaviours.

To take the lead in the development of the Speech and Language Therapy service for a defined specialist client-group, utilising highly specialist skills through experience and post-graduate training. 

 

To autonomously manage a caseload of clients with complex needs and differential diagnosis, using evidenced based practice/client based principles to assess, plan, formulate, implement and evaluate interventions in a variety of settings (individually and/or in groups and as part of a multidisciplinary team).

 

To provide expert knowledge and support within the service to the wider clinical team within Cambian, taking the lead on defined projects.

 

To supervise and mentor others, providing leadership and support, including supervision and continuing professional development to other Speech and Language Therapists and, where appropriate, Speech and Language Therapy assistants.

About You

The successful candidate for this role will have a degree or a postgraduate diploma in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent) and be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). You will have experience working with individuals that have Learning Disabilities and/or AS/ Autism Spectrum Disorders and preferably have worked with AAC approaches.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and we are committed to safeguarding and protecting the people within our care. Therefore, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and an offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance.
