We have a fantastic opportunity for a Site Agent to join our team in Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire. We are looking for a colleague who is already within this position; or looking to take the next step in your career within the infrastructure sector.  We are open to applications from candidates who live in; or can commute from some of the following areas: Chester, Liverpool, Wrexham, Ellesmere Port, Deeside, Flint, Holywell, Rhyl, Prestatyn, Abergele, Ruthin, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno, Conwy, Llanwrst, Bethesda, Caernarfon, Bangor, Porthmadog, Portmeirion, Bala and the surrounding areas.

Reporting directly to Operations Manager, the Site Agent will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of the Welsh Water Wastewater Network Repair and Maintenance projects within North Wales.

On a day to day basis, the responsibilities of the Site Agent will include the following (not exhaustive):

  • Overseeing the delivery of projects and setting standards to facilitate high performing teams   
  • Ensuring Management Plans, documentation & contract specific requirements are produced in line with programme for project
  • Reviewing Procurement in a timely manner to enable best value procurement
  • Ensuring resources are sufficient for the type and complexity of project is in place to safely plan and deliver the project  
  • Assisting in the production of the Project Cost Plan and monthly updates
  • Monitoring progress to ensure the project delivered to required targets
  • Reviewing and managing subcontracts and deliveries 
  • Managing site operations to maximise operational effectiveness and efficiency by understanding, adjusting and delivering an agreed scope and strategy based on tender principles  
  • Providing contract notifications in timely manner and ensuring payment applications are issued and in line with project forecasts and expectations

The ideal candidate will be a Site Agent who is in receipt of the following:

  • Educated to HNC or Degree level in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Good organisational interpersonal, listening and negotiation skills 
  • SMSTS or equivalent  
  • Experience using NEC forms of contract  
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook 
  • Good problem-solving skills; able to collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
