Salary: £33,000 per annum (term-time only)

Job Description

Key Responsibilities for Sous Chef

  • Support Senior Kitchen Team: Assist in the daily operations, ensuring smooth, efficient service alongside senior kitchen staff.

  • Culinary Expertise Across All Sections: Demonstrate proficiency in preparing and cooking a diverse range of dishes for both events and restaurant service.

  • Mentorship and Team Development: Train and mentor Commis Chefs and Kitchen Porters, supporting their growth and skill development for future roles.

  • Compliance with Safety and Hygiene Standards: Adhere to all legislative and government guidelines, including the Food Safety Act, Health and Safety at Work Act, and COSHH regulations, maintaining a safe and compliant kitchen environment.



Qualifications

  • Ideally have experience working within Education catering
  • Have a progressive career to date
  • Be up to date with current food trends
  • Have a real passion for food and customer service
  • Have good Health & Safety knowledge
  • Be able to work within set budgets
  • Know how to cost and plan menus accurately
  • Be familiar with training and coaching a team
