JOB PURPOSE

The Sustainable Manufacturing Manager – Waste will play a pivotal role in helping Burberry achieve our Sustainability Product and Planet commitments by developing and implementing a waste reduction and revalue programme for our Supply Chain’s production waste. You will actively engage with our internal teams as well as our supply chain partners to map and identify key raw material efficiencies at early stages of the product lifecycle and ‘waste’ revaluing opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing programmes to reduce waste and find new uses for leftover materials.
  • Partnering with internal teams and suppliers to improve efficiency from design to production.
  • Implementing best practices for waste management and exploring new recycling technologies.
  • Collaborating with industry stakeholders to accelerate progress towards circularity.
  • Contributing to Burberry's broader sustainability goals in water, energy, and chemicals.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Master's degree in Textile/Leather Engineering or relevant field with experience in garment/accessory manufacturing and material efficiency.
  • Passionate about supply chain, sustainability, and circular economy.
  • Excellent programme management skills, experience with supply chain implementation and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience in water, energy or chemical sustainability would be an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and social skills with experience building partnerships and working in collaborative learning environments.
  • Fluency in English (Italian desirable), proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Availability to travel.
