Job Introduction

An opportunity has arisen for 2 Team Supports within the Primary System Design team based at Tipton. 

The Primary System Design team is responsible for the design of the 33kV, 66kV and 132kV distribution network throughout National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) and for the provision of technical support to Network Services and other teams within NGED.

As a Team Support you will be responsible for providing administrative support to all members of the PSD West Midlands Team and for communicating directly with various internal and external stakeholders including customer’s applying to connect to the NGED network.

*Please note the successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.

Main Responsibilities

To provide administration support to the Primary Systems Design teams in the West Midlands

 

  • Process new connection offer enquiries on Crown advising the customer of reference numbers/ dates / missing information, update the Connections spreadsheet and create folders on the PSD network drive.
  • Manage the PSD team Inbox for new connection requests, Approval to Quotes, Offers and Scheme Acceptances
  • Manage team activity prompts within Crown
  • Produce documentation for schemes , Novation Agreements and MPAN’s
  • Handle internal and external queries from customers re new applications and ongoing schemes
  • Raise External Billing requests (Invoices / Credit Notes / Refunds) for accepted schemes
  • Liaise with Credit Control regarding outstanding invoices
  • Process external invoices on E5
  • Close enquiries down and manage the internal filing system for open and closed connection and reinforcement schemes
  • Provide administration support to the Team Manager and the team, i.e., arranging meetings, catering, hire cars, travel and accommodation.
  • Monitor team authorisations, PPE and annual leave.
  • Order PPE using E5 and via IR direct order. 
  • Assist with Statement of Works enquiries i.e. issuing letters and raising invoices.
  • Assist with producing CCP settings for local teams.

 

The Ideal Candidate

You must be able to communicate effectively both verbally, and in writing, with customers and other team members and must be able to represent the company positively at all times.

You must be reliable, well organised and be able to work as part of a team and you must be able to work using your own initiative. Possession of basic keyboard skills is essential, and knowledge of applications including PowerOn, EMU, E5 and CROWN is desirable.

Candidates are required to have A*-C grade in GCSE Maths and English or a Functional Skills Level 2 qualification in both subjects.
