Rugby Physiotherapist (CC12972) – Bath, BA2 7AY

We are seeking an experienced Rugby Physiotherapist to deliver and further develop an outstanding physiotherapy service for the University of Bath Rugby Programme, which competes in the BUCS Super Rugby Competition.

This role includes direct collaboration with Bath Rugby Academy, offering a unique opportunity to work across both university and professional rugby environments.

About the role

You will be responsible for:

  • providing pitch-side trauma care, injury assessment, rehabilitation, and player education.
  • developing and managing physiotherapy services for both first and second teams.
  • working closely with coaches, support staff, and Bath Rugby Academy staff to ensure a holistic and performance-focused approach to athlete care.
  • leading clinical governance for player wellbeing, including concussion protocols, emergency action plans, and injury audits.
  • supporting placement students and contributing to the development of the wider rugby programme.

About you

We’re looking for a motivated and skilled physiotherapist who thrives in high-performance sport. The ideal candidate will:

  • hold a degree (or equivalent) in Physiotherapy, with MCSP and HCPC registration.
  • have extensive experience as a Chartered Physiotherapist, including a strong background in sports physiotherapy.
  • hold a Sports Trauma Qualification (ACPSEM recognised, ideally PICIS Level 2 or 3).
  • demonstrate strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • be confident working independently and collaboratively in high-pressure environments.
  • be committed to continuous professional development, innovation, and service excellence.
  • be flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends, and able to travel between sites.

Further information

This is a full-time role working 36.5 hours per week (1.0 fte) but is part-funded by Bath Rugby Academy (0.2 fte) and includes work at both the University of Bath and Farleigh House.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this role, as well as your own transport to travel between sites and matches.
