Salary: £14.50 gross per hour. The Training Coordinator will be paid monthly, in arrears, according to the number of hours worked.

MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) is a nationally recognised standard for the training and assessment of minibus drivers. The scheme is managed and promoted by the Community Transport Association (CTA). Community First is an approved MiDAS training provider, and our qualified instructors have trained hundreds of drivers to transport passengers safely
All about the role:
Job Purpose
To identify, arrange and deliver minibus driver training in accordance with the National MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme), and other relevant training for volunteers and staff of community transport providers and other voluntary / education and community organisations in Wiltshire / Swindon and surrounding areas.
Main Responsibilities
- To attain and maintain the MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme Driver Assessor) qualification. (The cost of training and accreditation as a MiDAS Driver Assessor (DA) will be met by Community First.)
- To establish and promote an ongoing programme of regular MiDAS training Sessions and to work as part of a team to deliver the training.
- To administer the bookings and liaise with Community First finance team regarding invoicing for the training.
- To organise venues for the training and arrange with candidates for appropriate vehicles to be available for the driving assessments.
- To maintain a database of MiDAS Qualified Drivers, and to notify drivers when their MiDAS Certification will shortly expire in order to arrange for them to attend further Training.
- To assist with the identification of additional training needs in the community transport sector and, where appropriate, provision of training to meet these needs.
- To maintain awareness of any legal changes affecting drivers of community minibuses.
- To attend staff and team meetings as and when requested
- To provide regular update reports to the Community First Deputy CEO | Head of Community and Partnership development.
- To carry out any other duties by negotiation with the Community First Head of Community and Partnership development as may be required from time to time.
