We have an exciting new opportunity for you to be our Head of Performance & Optimisation, where you’ll lead a team of professionals focused on analysing technical & energy market aspects of operational performance and managing generation settlements & associated subsidies and certificates. Your mission? To ensure our assets are performing at their most optimum technical & commerical position and be able to provide strategy to how we can get there.

The salary is competitive (We have a graded reward package to suit new entrants to the renewables industry through to the most experienced Head of Performance and Optimisation)
Working Hours – 37 hours

What You’ll Do:

You’ll be at the forefront of digitising our performance and optimisation capabilities, unlocking insights from data to drive asset excellence. You’ll present your findings to stakeholders, showcasing both potential and actual commercial performance.

You’ll support new asset onboarding, covering operational data, lease management, market arrangements (PPAs or subsidies), and customer relationships. You’ll produce and report on generation budgets and Plans, while guiding your team to be experts in UK energy markets and regulations.

You’ll manage energy market interactions, including revenue forecasting, ancillary services, and bidding strategies. And you’ll maximise value from forward commitments like cPPAs, hedges, and trading.

Who are you?

You’re someone who’s naturally curious and always looking for ways to improve how things work. You’re confident analysing complex data and communicating your insights clearly to a range of stakeholders. You build strong relationships and know how to influence across a business.

You’re experienced in coaching and supporting teams, and you bring a collaborative, inclusive leadership style. You’re digitally savvy, especially when it comes to data management and analysis, and you’re passionate about using technology to drive performance.

What Skills Do You Need?

You’ll bring solid experience in asset management, including P&L responsibility and a strong understanding of operations and maintenance. You’ve got strong commercial acumen and know your way around Renewable Certificates (ROC/REGO).

You understand National Grid ESO requirements and how they impact operational control of renewables. You’ve led teams and championed new ways of working. You know what drives commercial performance and can think strategically to prioritise initiatives that align with long-term goals.
