We are recruiting for an Enterprise Architect that will join a newly formed EA function. You will be joining a newly formed Enterprise Architecture and Technology Strategy team. The team will grow over coming months as we design the function. The team will work closely with our corporate planning team and our strategic change team. It will define the EA processes, how it fits into our agile journey, own and develop our technology strategy and give vision and direction to 500+ technology & change colleagues.

What Will You Be Doing?

 

You will:

  • Build and maintain an enterprise and technical architecture framework, and corresponding guidance and standards to ensure architecture is fit for purpose. 
  • Facilitate alignment between business and technology teams maintaining relationships and telling the future state story.
  • Support business strategy and create and maintain our technology strategy.
  • Create and own the organisations business capability maps, their mapping to business outcomes and transitionary and end state architectures.
  • Partner senior executives and value stream leaders to provide council, guidance and direction in support of business vision and outcomes.

What Do We Need From You

 

Influence – Initiates influential relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers and partners at senior management level, including industry leaders. Makes decisions which impact the work of employing organisation's achievement of organisational objectives and financial performance. 

 

Complexity – Performs highly complex work activities covering technical, financial and quality aspects. Has deep expertise in own specialism(s) and an understanding of its impact on the broader business and wider customer/organisation. 

 

KnowledgeTakes the initiative to advance own skills and those skills required in their area of accountability. Familiarity with enterprise architecture tools, related graphical models, and frameworks. Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics. Insight into information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks.

 

Business Skills  – Demonstrates leadership in organisational management. Understands and communicates industry developments, and the role and impact of technology in the employing organisation. Mentors’ management colleagues. Identifies and endorses opportunities to adopt new technologies and digital services. Creatively applies a wide range of innovative and/or management principles to realise business benefits aligned to the organisational strategy. Communicates authoritatively at all levels across the organisation to both technical and non-technical audiences articulating business objectives.
