Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full- time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible or part- time approach where possible. 
 
Salary: £52,393 DOE, plus bonus and other benefits.

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. 
 
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Environmental Permitting Specialist in the Sizewell C Environment Team. 

 

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.   
 

 
The Role 

 

 

You’ll support the Permitting Delivery Leads to co-ordinate and integrate the timely delivery of construction environmental permits consents and licenses in relation to activities conducted across the Sizewell C. 

 

You’ll play a key part of the Environmental Permitting Team which sits within the Environmental Consenting and Compliance Team who are responsible for enabling construction activities through the securing of construction permits for waste, water discharges, water resources, flood risk activities and emissions to air. 

You’ll have a high level of technical engagement between designers and contractors within the Delivery Teams, the Environmental Consenting and Compliance Team and our supply chain partners. 

 

The Skills 

 

 

Are you passionate about environmental protection and compliance? 

 

Do you have experience in obtaining permits for construction projects and ensuring regulatory compliance? 

 

You’ll have experience to support the delivery of environmental permits, consents and licences to support the construction of Sizewell C and its Associated Developments. 

 

You’ll have a great understanding of the challenges faced in construction environmental permitting in a complex major infrastructure project and good project management skills. 

 

You’ll have knowledge of the planning regimes including for national infrastructure.
