Job Description
The Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) project currently involves the planning, design and construction of circa 320km of new strategic, large diameter, clean water interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure across Anglian Water’s region. The SPA Alliance is also taking on responsibility for the future interconnector pipelines, a further 260km of strategic interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure.
We are looking for an experienced General Foreperson to sit within the Project Delivery team and drive delivery through the Project both in pre-construction and on-site delivery.
As our new General Foreperson, you’ll be responsible for the operational delivery on specific non-infra projects supporting pre-construction buildability and onsite delivery, supported by a wider delivery team.
Responsibilities
- Delivery of site inductions, daily site briefings and safety briefings to framework contractor site personnel covering appropriate health, safety and environmental topics and ensure records of briefings are maintained
- Ensure that all works are properly planned and carried out in safe and controlled manner and in a cost-efficient manner
- Coordinate vehicle and plant movements on site ensuring pedestrian segregation
- Promote a healthy safety culture on site, challenging behaviours and promoting good practice
- Coordinate deliveries of materials to site and maintain site security
- Support Site Agent and Engineers in the planning of upcoming works, ensuring adequate labour, plant and materials are available to deliver the works in line with the programme
- Coordination of framework contractors’ construction activities on site ensuring interfaces are adequately managed
- Review productivity on site and support Site Agent and Planner with programme
- Maintain adequate site records inclusive of daily diaries, quantities of works completed and photographic evidence
- Support Site Engineers with completion of Inspection and Test Records
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Construction Industry experience
- Experience supervising subcontractors
- Understanding of Engineering principles and construction techniques
- Previous water industry experience (preferred)
- Experience of working on large complex sites
- Health and safety focused with an ability to spot hazards and challenge behaviours on site
- Conscientious with attention to detail
- Collaborative and able to work with others
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Able to complete detailed site records of activities completed on site inclusive of quantities
Qualifications
- SMSTS qualification
- Gold (Supervisor) or Black (Construction Site Management) CSCS card
- Lift Supervisor
- New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) Supervisors
- EUSR National Water Hygiene Standards ‘Blue Card’
