Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented General Ledger Accounting Intern to join our finance team. This role will support the general ledger function by assisting with month-end and year-end close activities and helping to ensure accurate financial reporting in line with accounting standards and internal controls.

This role is well suited for an individual who is eager to develop practical accounting skills, gain exposure to a professional finance environment, and build a strong foundation in financial reporting while working in a collaborative, deadline-driven team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support month-end close activities in accordance with reporting timelines, including review of trial balances.
  • Process accruals, prepayments, payroll, and other journal entries for multiple entities across Europe
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting policies.
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements and providing support for internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, Financial Planning & Analysis, Facilities, Cash, Accounts Payable, other finance and operations teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Keen interest in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) in English, another European language is a plus.
  • Results orientated, flexible, resourceful, and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong time-management skills, ability to adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Team player and customer service orientated, can-do attitude.
  • Organized, detail oriented and disciplined in follow through and completion.
