Hourly Rate: £13.15

Main Purpose:

Most of the time Hospitality Assistant‘s duties are confined to catering, however, staff do spend some time organizing furniture in the seminar rooms, keeping an eye on audio-visual equipment, or helping in the cloakroom. Due to the fact that the venue is a seven-floor building and boasts 6 different kitchens and pantries, communication is the crucial rule of providing a successful catering service. The Hospitality Assistants ‘most frequent task is supplying sufficient amounts of tea, coffee, and water to various-sized seminar rooms and exam circuits. Moreover, it is very important to meet clients when they arrive. Staff needs to welcome the client and, if necessary, introduce themselves to the guests, show around the building, check if the AV equipment is working, and make sure coffee/lunch break times are correct. Lunch can be chosen from the list of sandwiches, hot food (buffet style or plated lunch), and finger food. Hot fork buffet usually requires the individual to explain how various menu items are prepared and describe ingredients or cooking methods. Candidates will be required to work in bigger events such as weddings, anniversaries, graduations, birthdays, or Christmas parties which require even better timing and more attention in regard to food amount. It also needs more preparation and the best way to lay up the tables and display the food. Herein, creativity and teamwork is the crucial request. Moreover, during such events, staff members should be able to train agency people, if necessary. Drinks and canapés (or bowl food) receptions are the other crucial part of 30 Euston Square events. Therefore, a deep knowledge of alcoholic drinks and food items would be an advantage for a candidate.
