In a Nutshell…

We have an exciting opportunity for an I-Joist Designer to join our team within Vistry Works, at various locations across the East Midlands. As our I-Joist Designer, you will be working under the Design Manager, the I-Joist Designer will be working alongside the Timber Frame Department to produce detailed I-Joist designs, floor cassette manufacture and installation drawings.

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role elsewhere.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • An understanding of materials/components used in the construction of low-rise buildings.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work on your own initiative and manage your workload.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to form and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience using Finnframe preferred but similar experience using other floor systems software acceptable.
  • Experience detailing floor cassettes for timber frame buildings advantageous.

More about the I-Joist Designer role…

  • To produce detailed and accurate I-Beam designs using Finnframe software.
  • To produce floor cassette manufacture drawings using Finnframe software.
  • To produce site assembly drawings using Finnframe software.
  • Producing accurate Bills of Materials and ancillary Take-offs.
  • Responsible for hitting deadlines and being able to manage your own workload.
  • To offer practical advice on technical issues and problem solving.
  • Any other ad hoc duties that may be required from time to time, as directed by your line manager.
