This is a hugely exciting time to be joining the King’s Sport & Wellness team at the New Malden Sports Ground. Over the next few years, we will be looking to expand the scope and quality of our offering to the King’s community.
About the role:
The post holder will contribute to the department’s mission to deliver unique sport and wellness experiences that unite our members and optimise our people and potential.
The purpose of this role is to support the Sports Grounds Manager in the delivery of outstanding sports grounds and pitches and lead the daily and weekly operations at the New Malden Sports Ground to enhance the quality of our facilities and user experience.
The Lead Grounds Person will also work collaboratively with the Sports Ground Manager to develop a coordinated annual delivery plan for the site.
This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
About You:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
1. Minimum Level 2 Sports Turf qualification
2. Experience working at Sports Grounds or within the grounds industry
3. Good knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
4. Experience in a customer service environment.
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
6. Ability to work as part of a small team and on own initiative.
Desirable criteria
1. Experience of working with Higher Education students and staff
2. A good level of education (A-level or equivalent)
