Asda is on a mission to deliver exceptional online grocery experiences for our customers. We’re looking for a strategic and analytical leader to join our Online Grocery team as Operational Readiness Manager. This role is pivotal in shaping how we pick and serve our online orders, ensuring we operate efficiently while delighting our customers every day.

As Operational Readiness Manager, you’ll be responsible for setting our stores up for success. This will include, but not be limited to:

  • Designing and evolving the Pick and Service Shape of Day: You’ll define and continuously improve the most efficient structure for picking and serving online grocery orders throughout the day, balancing operational capability with customer expectations.
  • Optimising Operational Efficiency: You’ll analyse operational and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement, ensuring stores are set up to deliver the best outcomes for both customers and colleagues.
  • Managing the Back of House Calculator: You’ll own and develop the tool that monitors operating space in stores, using insights to guide decisions on capacity, layout, and future growth potential.
  • Collaborating Across Teams: You’ll work closely with store operations, technology, and planning teams to ensure readiness for new initiatives and changes in demand.

“Let’s find out about you”

  • Analytical and data-driven, with experience in operational planning or logistics.
  • Comfortable working with tools and models to forecast capacity and performance.
  • A strong communicator with a positive attitude who can influence across teams and levels.
  • Passionate about improving customer experience through operational excellence.
  • Innovative and forward-thinking, with the ability to shape and evolve the operational roadmap.

Everything you’ll love

To ensure we balance moments where we know we need to collaborate together and the need for flexibility, Asda has a hybrid way of working with a minimum 3 days a week in one of our Home Offices. Over and above this, each area of Asda may have additional requirements which may require spending more days in the office, visiting suppliers, stores or depots.

You will also get an excellent benefits package including:

  • Discretionary company bonus
  • Company pension up to 7% matched
  • Company Car allowance of £5,700
  • 15% colleague discount in store and online
  • Free access to wellbeing services such as Wagestream, 24/7 virtual GP, counselling, health and dental cash plans and a 24/7 employee assistance helpline, alongside discounts across a range of services and activities, from airport parking, enhanced to theme parks and cinemas.
  • Asda Allies Inclusion Networks – helping colleagues to make sure everybody is included and that our differences are recognised and celebrated
  • Excellent parental leave policies, including maternity & adoption leave, paternity leave, shared parental leave, neonatal care leave, and support for those doing fertility treatments.
