Overview
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic School Administrator to join our team at Esland Shropshire School, Ditton Priors, Bridgnorth. Our school is a new provision for children with special education needs, which will open in January 2025. We are looking for someone to assist in the process of opening and beyond, to support in ensuring the smooth running of our specialist provision. About our schools:
- Help in ensuring the smooth-running of the office
- Managing the “front of house” area – greeting all visitors and making them feel welcome
- Arranging internal meetings
- Assisting with special events
- Being sure to project a professional image of the school at all times
- Forming effective relationships with support departments to ensure the efficient running of the school administration (including maintenance, health and safety processes, ordering of provisions and processing payments
- Supporting the pupil admissions and referral processes
- Being an efficient and effective primary point of contact for all enquiries on the telephone, by email or in person
- Ensuring safeguarding of all young people underpins every decision made
- Providing weekly staff attendance reports to People & Culture and Payroll, supporting the attendance management process
- Monitoring and reporting on pupil attendance and updating the school contacts database
- Scheduling meetings and ensuring the delegates are notified
- Supporting the transition processes and preparing all necessary paperwork for students joining and moving on from the school
What we’re looking for:
- Excellent working knowledge of programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and numeracy skills
- Excellent organisation skills, able to multi-task and prioritise work effectively
- A friendly manner with all visitors and stakeholders
- Strong administration skills within a School/College environment
- Experience of working in a SEMH/SEND school (desirable)
- The ability to update and maintain records on internal databases/systems
- Understanding and experience of following school security procedures
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- The ability to work the required hours (Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm)
