Location: Lymington 

Hours: 40 hr contracts 

Salary Details: £30,305.60

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people in a holistic child centred and trauma-informed way to support young children to achieve their full potential? If so, we are looking for enthusiastic, resilient and motivated managers to join our growing complex care service

We provide residential care for children and young people who have a diagnosis of ASD and have experienced some of life’s most challenging circumstances and adverse conditions. Through joining us you will work within a confident and experienced care team. Working closely with our clinical and educational colleagues to improve outcomes for our children. Working within this multi-disciplinary team you will work directly with children who have been victims of exploitation, neglect and have complex care needs with a focus on rebuilding resilience, working around managing risks and creating a safe and bright future for when they move on into the next stage of their journey. You will also work closely with external agencies such as social care, local police and other partners to ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of our children.

Your key responsibilities as the Home Manager:

As the Home Manager you will have the main responsibility of your home, you’ll be integral to the smooth running of daily life within your home, enabling young people to thrive. You will inspire and lead your team to manage a warm and friendly home that provides a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to achieve positive outcomes whilst also achieving compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations and ensuring your home is always able to evidence a high standard of care and quality. You will be responsible for the organisation of work patterns, facilitation of training, and the accessing of appropriate services to support the childcare practices within your homes.

You will lead a team of colleagues and facilitate their professional development so that they not only provide high-quality care and support, but are enabled to fulfil their own career potential too. You will be supported by the Senior Management Team at Southlands. You will design, implement and monitor the care and education plans to meet the individual needs of our children and young people, ensuring that key life and independent skills are achieved in the enriching and positive environment we strive to create. You will build positive relationships with families, carers and external agencies to provide the best possible outcomes for the child. You will be responsible for the organisation of work patterns, facilitation of training, and the accessing of appropriate services to support the childcare practices within your homes.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Level 5 Diploma in/or working towards Leadership and management (Residential Childcare)
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of managing a team
  • Have experience of working with children and young people with challenging behaviours including mental health and behavioural problems
  • Full UK Driving license
  • Excellent knowledge of current legislations The Children’s Homes England Regulations 2015, Quality Standards 2015, the Children’s Act 1989, Children Act 2004 alongside all other legislations that are relevant to residential children’s homes
