Job Description

esure’s Internal Audit team provides 3rd line assurance around the efficiency of our organisation’s governance, risk, controls and systems. The team plays a critical role in ensuring our operations are in compliance with regulatory requirements and that our risk management practices are effective.

As an Internal Audit Manager you will have a helicopter view of our whole business and work with most (if not all) of our departments on audit activity. At esure, we lead and deliver around 18 to 20 audits per year, with time set aside to respond to audits that come up when needed or when new legislation / regulatory requirements come into place.

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for the full end to end audit process (planning, fieldwork and reporting)
  • Ensure that audit findings and recommendations are proportionate, practical and aligned to our risk appetite
  • Produce detailed audit reports and follow up on audit actions
  • Actively provide support, guidance and insight to our internal departments on controls and governance
  • Work in line with internal audit methodology, procedures and IIA standards
  • Keep up to date with data analytics / IT industry trends and regulation. Provide insights to partners and governance committees on how these could impact our business
  • Build strong, collaborative work relationships with departments and individuals of all levels (including board level)

Qualifications

What we’d love you to bring:

  • Experience working within an Internal Audit department or an Internal Audit role
  • Someone who will be a champion for our Internal Audit function, ensuring people understand the benefits of what the internal audit team does
  • A creative and strategic individual who seeks out ways to improve processes and ways of working in a constantly evolving world
  • Strong report writing skills and the ability to explain technical jargon to non-technical individuals
  • A relevant industry qualification (ACCA, ICAEW, CISA, CISSP, CIA) is a nice to have
