Lead Driver

Salary: up to £34,631 Plus Benefits

 

We are currently seeking a professional and experienced Lead Driver to join our team. As a Lead Driver, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing our team of drivers to ensure safe and efficient transportation services. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership skills, a strong understanding of transportation regulations, and a proven track record in managing a team.
 

Responsibilities

  • Organize and coordinate the daily dispatch of drivers, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries
  • Train and mentor drivers, providing guidance on best practices and safety protocols
  • Monitor driver performance, conducting regular evaluations and providing feedback for improvement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding transportation and driver operations
  • Investigate and resolve any customer complaints or issues related to transportation services
  • Maintain accurate records of driver schedules, routes, and vehicle maintenance

About You

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a professional driver, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Excellent knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
