70 Hours Per Week and Part Time
Location: Southwark, SE1 8LF
Southwark College, part of NCG Group is looking to appoint a number of term-time only Learning Support Workers for the 2024 -5 academic year. This new posts are need to meet the increasing demand from our learners. Based at our Southwark College site, close to Waterloo Station, the successful candidates will be part of a large team of Learning Support staff. These posts would be term-time only.
The main duties of the post holders would be:
In class support for learners with EHCPs, this would include note taking, prompting, assisting students with classroom tasks to access teaching, learning and assessment
Creating / adapting / using a range of resources and strategies to meet learners’ needs including e-resources, assistive technology and adapted equipment
Supervising learners on arrival at college, during lunchtimes and breaks and ensuring they leave the premises with due care as required
Supporting learners off-site in learning and travelling contexts e.g. trips, travel training, work placements
Keeping records of learner needs, progress and the achievement of learning targets

The three roles that are available are
FTE 0.4 working on Mondays and Tuesdays only
FTE 0.6 working on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays only
FTE 1.0 working on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
