Job Description

Due to our expanding team, we have an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Audit Manager to support and act on behalf of the CAO in providing objective assurance around the efficiency of the organisation’s governance, risk and systems of internal control to Executive Management, Board and Audit Committee.

The day to day:

  • Act as CAO proxy, attending key meetings and presenting IA reports to GE.
  • Assist CAO in evolving the wider team to align with new IIA standards and industry changes.
  • Improve Internal Audit's reputation and value within esure under CAO mentorship.
  • Conduct and oversee sophisticated audits, ensuring findings align with esure's risk tolerance.
  • Lead focused, risk-based assurance activities.
  • Manage co-sourced relationships and ensure quality delivery from external auditors.
  • Mentor and support Internal Audit team members.
  • Cultivate relationships with business partners and challenge for governance improvement.
  • Utilize SMEs and governance processes to advise audit assignments.
  • Produce clear, insightful audit reports tailored to recipients.
  • Follow up on audit actions and assess efficiency of closures.
  • Improve team's data analytics capabilities.
  • Develop esure's internal audit methodology, procedures, and standards.
  • Offer support and insight on internal controls and governance to the organization.
  • Scope, plan, complete and report on individual reviews with minimal involvement of the CAO.
  • Determine the scope, areas for focus, sampling technique and size.

Qualifications

Qualifications

we'd love you to have:

  • Ideally have a relevant qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIA.
  • Demonstrably strong internal audit experience at a senior level in financial services.
  • Significant experience of communicating and forming strong relationships with C-suite executives
  • Ability to step up and deputise for CAO
  • Strong understanding of business systems, processes and controls
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interpret and translate complex issues and produce high quality reports
  • Good judgement with proven track record to determine pragmatic, appropriate and proportionate recommendations
  • Good knowledge and understanding of regulatory frameworks, industry trends and standard process
  • Provide effective and robust challenge to business and members of the IA team (including CAO)
