Summary 

As a successful candidate you will be working in the Accountancy business unit.  This part of IRIS produces software for UK accountancy practices.  

We are looking for someone with a demonstrable track record of line management, leadership skills and strong communication capabilities. You will bring with you significant experience with Agile practices, principles and processes.

You will be the line manager for 8 – 12 direct reports.  You will support and develop your direct reports through regular coaching, mentoring sessions and providing continuous feedback.

You need to be passionate about helping others reach their goals and becoming the best engineers that they can be.

You will work with other development managers to establish and advocate the best engineering practices across the organisation as well as embedding a strong engaged team culture.

You will need to help foster an environment that encourages ownership and autonomy.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the professional development and career progression of their direct reports by helping them to decide & set goals and agree actionable steps towards achieving them
  • Creating positive team culture (e.g. curious, mutually challenging, collaborative)
  • Encouraging ownership and autonomy
  • Leading and aligning the engineering team with the department’s vision
  • Develop, inspire, mentor, and evaluate the engineering team
  • Strengthening the team by hiring the best possible candidates
  • Collaborate with cross-functional peers and leaders to deliver projects
