Overview

We are currently seeking a Support Worker to join our team at The Orchard Day Service.

The Orchard is a joint service between Middlesbrough Council and TEWV which provides individuals with profound multiple learning disabilities access to a range of services which meet their social and health needs. As a multi-disciplinary team, we aim to meet identified needs in a safe supportive informative accessible and empowering environment whilst encouraging individuals to access a wide range of sensory activities both within and outside The Orchard.

You will provide direct care and support to adults with complex health needs and associated disabilities within the Orchard Day Service.

The role involves the following the duties and responsibilities:

Personal care.

Hygiene.

Physical Needs.

Social and Emotional Needs.

Peg Feed.

Assisted feeding.

Promoting Independence.

Contribute to social activities and provide stimulation to meet service users specific needs following the principles of Person Centred Approaches.

Assist service user with prescribed medication when necessary.

Accurate documentation and completion of individual Care Plans.

Promote personal wellbeing.

To contribute to work effectively as a member of a complex integrated team.

To undertake all necessary and mandatory/specialist training as and when required.

This is an opportunity to build on your already gained qualifications and have a minimum of NVQ 2 in Care.

We are looking for applicants who have the appropriate experience to join our established team.

This vacancy is part time for 20 hours per week.

Salary: £25,119 – £25,979 pro rata
